Summer Band Opportunities for Summer 2015
Who can participate in summer band?
Anyone who has had a band class in Vernal Middle School, Vernal Junior High, UHS, or any other public school band program. Unless you are interested in guard then anyone that will be in 7th grade or higher next year.
What are the options for summer band this year at UHS?
You have two choices.
- Summer Parade Band
- Summer Marching Band Shadow
What is the difference?
The summer parade band will require that you learn the parade music and participate in the parades. The summer marching band shadow gives you the opportunity to come work with the HS band and see what they do. You will shadow a student, or take the place of a missing student. There is no performance opportunity here unless you do the parades too. (If you are going to shadow a HS student you really should plan to do the parades too.)
What is the cost?
You can do any one of the two or both for the low price of $40. Please pay the HS finance office, or Mr. Gibson.
When are practices?
- Summer Parade Band – Tuesdays from 8am to 11:00am Starting on June 2 at 8am.
- Summer Marching Band Shadow – Any time the MB is practicing, your choice how much you want to do. See their full schedule on uintahband.net Go to Bands>Marching Band

What do I need to bring?
A working instrument. Good marching shoes. Water. A good attitude.
